About

Welcome

The ministry of Blessed Homecoming was “birthed” with the mission to help families make the transition from “Baby’s Coming” to “Baby’s Here…now what?” phase of life.

We believe  the church has a very important role to play in helping young families. Even  in  a  faith  community,  anxiety,  depression, anger  and  frustration  are  real.   There  is  hope  and  help.  Its  the  church’s job is to  communicate  acceptance  and support.

Our hope is to partner with churches, women’s and mom’s groups to find ways to provide support and resources.

Postpartum Doula (CPD)

I’m a mom to 8 great kids, and spent many, many years pregnant and/or breastfeeding.

I’ve been working alongside families for over 25 years. Even before I earned a degree in Child Development and Family Studies, I found my calling; Babies!   That passion has never changed; it’s only grown and developed over the years. Working as  a nanny, running a home daycare, working in many childcare care facilities, have continued to shape and give me the wisdom and experience I have today. Working as the  Early Childhood Director at my church, for over 15 years has given me many insights into how pregnancy and postpartum issues are present and real, even in faith filled homes. There is hope and help for anyone experiencing struggles.

Becoming a postpartum doula was a natural extension of my passion for working with babies and their families. Using the gifts God has given me to support new families has been such a blessing.

Certified Lactation Consultant (CLC)
Postpartum Doula (CPD)

I am a mother to 5 amazing children. They were all pretty close in age, so in the beginning I had 4 kids 4 and under. I have at least 10 years of breastfeeding experience myself.  I have worked in the lactation field for 7 years. And have helped many, many mothers overcome different types of struggles and challenges with breastfeeding and infant care. I have also taught a breastfeeding class for expecting mothers. To help educate them, so they can get breastfeeding off to a great start.

My heart is to use the gifts and talents God has giving me to love and support, educate and bless new moms and families.  Babies are such a blessing, but they don’t come with an instructional manual, and sometimes there are challenging things to overcome. And sometimes you just need that confidence of someone telling you, you are doing everything right, and this is all normal baby behavior. No matter what your situation is, we are here to help.

Christine and Shamim have personally experienced many pregnancy, birth, breastfeeding and postpartum challenges including:

  • bed rest
  • preterm labor
  • pre-eclampsia
  • pregnancy complications
  • preterm birth
  • breastfeeding challenges
  • critical time in NICU
  • apnea episodes and going home with apnea equipment
  • traumatic births
  • hemorrhaging after birth
  • multiple miscarriages
  • loss of a child

Our hearts are compassionate to those who have walked through difficult circumstance leading up to this point.  No matter what the circumstances of your birth story, we are here to walk alongside you and support you and your family.
